Principal's Message:

Our 5th Grade students that are preparing for middle school were participants during the Griffin Tour this week.  Foothill Staff set up a presentation with six Foothill students to talk about middle school and answer questions.  The presentation was informative and engaging.  For example, eight of our Valle Verde students received numbers to explain the drop schedule that included six periods a day and guess what?  After the visual of standing across the stage in number order and moving to the end of the line and observing the number order slightly change based on six periods the students started making sense of the concept.  I think the students will understand the schedule a little better once they get to middle school.  Our very own fifth grade teachers responded to questions after the presentation.  At this time of year, we often see our fifth grade students grappling with the idea of middle school and having a discussion around what to expect supports a smooth transition.

The Parent/Guardian Night is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 6:30pm.  The information night is for parents/guardians only due to space limitations in the MUR.

The 6th Grade Course Elective Selection Process is online through a Google Form through March 12th.   The link can be found on the Foothill Griffin school website.

A paper version will go home next week.

English Language Proficiency Assessments for California) Summative Testing will begin March 2- March 6th, 2020.
